Though steeped in tradition, the game of tennis is constantly evolving with new equipment, training techniques, injury treatments and more. The Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) was developed by Tennis Canada for Canadian certified instructors, coaches, and club professionals with one of its goals being to deliver up-to-date information on coaching-related material.

As one of the requirements necessary in maintaining an active status of certification, the main objective is to provide a communication tool through a member’s only website. Along with keeping coaches updated on valuable developments that can aid them, this association provides a number of other variety benefits including: $2,000,000 liability insurance, educational resources, job find, on-line store, and discounts on tennis products and equipment. The goal is to educate and provide services / benefits for tennis coaches and tennis professionals across Canada.  

The purpose of the association is to:

  • enhance the overall development of its members.
  • improve communication.
  • provide benefits.
  • support its members by providing up-to-date education resources.

All certified individuals will now have a central resource bank of information that they can access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at their own leisure.

All funds raised from the membership will go directly back into coaching development, including:

  • development of coaching-related resources.
  • professional development opportunities including conferences and seminars.
  • training of coaches through the certification program (club pro stream and coaching stream)
  • improving communication with instructors/coaches/and pros in Canada.
